| Sonoma Compost is used by local farmers to
grow just about every crop of interest in Sonoma and surrounding counties.
Currently, a wide range of vegetables, apples, berries, olives, grapes and
flowers are grown with the help of our premium quality compost and
mulches. Sonoma Compost is used by a number of certified organic growers. It's listed as an "Allowed" material for use in organic production by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI). Organizations such as California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) rely on OMRI to provide guidance on whether particular products are allowed inputs for certified organic farms. According to our farmer customers, they use Sonoma Compost to increase the percentage of organic matter in their soil, build soil structure and improve tilth, add nutrients and make nutrients in the soil more available to their plants. They also use it to conserve moisture and improve general soil health by introducing a diverse population of beneficial microorganisms.
